Sprinkling the Nations

Speaking of the coming of Messiah, Isaiah 52:15 says, “so shall he sprinkle many nations” it is an allusion to Leviticus 4:6 when God told the priest, interceding for all the people, to “dip his finger in the blood and sprinkle part of the blood seven times before the LORD in front of the veil of the sanctuary.” Before the High Priest could go beyond the veil, separating the Holy place from the Most Holy place, He had to cover everything, and everyone, with blood. No one dared go into the holy, red hot, presence of God without plenty of blood covering them.

On Calvary the true High Priest, Jesus Christ, sprinkled His blood over the entire world. One drop of His blood is sufficient enough to cover every sin ever committed. Hebrews 7:27–28 “He has no need, like those high priests, to offer sacrifices daily, first for his own sins and then for those of the people, since he did this once for all when he offered up himself. For the law appoints men in their weakness as high priests, but the word of the oath, which came later than the law, appoints a Son who has been made perfect forever.”

Let the love and sufficiency of Christ’s perfect righteousness envelope you right now. Allow His holiness to swallow your sinfulness whole. Romans 5:20 “Where sin increased, grace abounded all the more.” Our sin is no match for Christ’s sacrifice. Let Jesus take you beyond the veil. Covered in His blood go with Him into the Most Holy place, where our hearts can become his Mercy Seat, from where He will reign supreme with justice and mercy. Jesus didn't only die to save us, but to turn us into agents of salvation. It isn’t enough that we've seen the light. He wants our life to shine His light to the rest of the world.
