The Fall and Rise

“Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid,” (Jn 19:41). Because of Adam’s sin, everyone must eventually go into the ground. But because of Christ’s sacrifice, everyone can come back out of the ground. How fitting both the fall of creation and the rise of new creation takes place in a garden, and Jesus mistaken for a gardener. “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit.” (Jn 12:24). The spread of sin's destruction which started in a garden has been stopped in a garden and sealed for destruction.

Follow Christ, the great gardener, every pain will eventually lead to praise, each sorrow will eventually lead to joy, and every death will eventually lead to life. "Those who sow in tears shall reap with shouts of joy! He who goes out weeping, bearing the seed for sowing, shall come home with shouts of joy, bringing his sheaves with him." (Psalm 126:5–6)
